When and why did you become vegan? It was a slow process — taking note of the word “vegetarian” when my nanny told me that such people existed when I was five, and eventually going vegetarian at nineteen out of a combined caring for animals and interest in yoga.

On July 6th 2017, Mark Reinfeld was inducted into the North American Vegetarian Society’s Vegetarian Hall of Fame for his decades of work in the field of food activism. Teaching others how to prepare healthy plant-based cuisine is his way of affecting positive change on the planet. Chef Mark joins an honor roll of previous inductees that include Mahatma Gandhi, T. Collin Campbell, PhD, and Jay and Freya Dinshah, the founders of the American Vegan Society.
